Advanced Reader Copy (ARC) Requests for Rhodelia are Open!

Wow, the past few months have been a whirlwind! First, my daughter graduated from high school, which meant all of the end-of-senior-year craziness no one warns you about (senior recognition/honors night, final performances, receptions, graduation parties, etc.). Soon after all of that hoopla, she left for a tour of southeast Asia while my husband and I took off for an extended vacation of our own to our happy place, Walt Disney World!

Oh, and in the middle of all the senior year events of April/May and our trips in June, I somehow managed to finish writing my second novel. 😜

Trust me, it would not have been possible without the help of my awesome beta readers and editors. It really does take a village!

I have learned so much about being an author since publishing my first novel back in 2019. I feel like I have really grown as a writer, and I’ve been able to reflect on the process of self-publishing and learn more about that as well. This time around, I invested in professional cover art instead of a photo I took myself (ha!), and I had the help of a professional beta reader and a fantastic line editor. I’m also publishing through a channel that will allow for wider distribution besides just purchasing directly from me, from Amazon, or from local bookstores that choose to carry it.

I am THRILLED to announce that the application for ARC readers for my upcoming novel, Rhodelia, is now open!

ARCs are incredibly important for indie authors like me! They allow people to read the book and leave reviews before it’s available for sale, which in turn helps spread the word and builds interest in the book among readers, bookstores, and libraries.

Please CLICK HERE for more info about the book and the form to fill out if you’d like to request a digital ARC copy.

If you don’t usually post book reviews but are still excited about the novel’s release, stay tuned! VERY soon, I’ll be sharing the gorgeous cover art and launch date information!

Finally, here’s a summary of Rhodelia. I can’t wait to share it with everyone! 😊

ABOUT THE BOOK

Rosa Lee Porter spent her childhood climbing trees in Rhodelia with Tommy Jenkins, the boy next door. In 1907 when Tommy leaves Rhodelia and a heartbroken Rosa Lee behind, they agree to exchange letters, unwilling to completely sever their connection.

A chance encounter with Sam Hudson, a handsome circus strongman, introduces Rosa Lee to a world of glittering costumes, majestic animals, and dazzling performers. By 1913, she is Rosa Volante, “Queen of the Big Top,” an aerialist known for her scandalous, death-defying signature act.

Meanwhile, Tommy endures an unspeakable tragedy and faces dangers of his own that threaten to push Rosa Lee away forever.

As Rosa Lee’s ties to Sam the strongman become hopelessly tangled, an unexpected event brings her back to Rhodelia. But Rosa Lee’s nightmares have followed her, and coming home is never as easy as it seems.
